Helder Oliveira earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Alagoas in 2011. Following this, he pursued his master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Campinas, graduating in 2014. In 2018, he attained his Ph.D. in Computer Science, also from the University of Campinas. Currently, he serves as a professor at the Center for Engineering, Modeling, and Applied Social Sciences at the Federal University of ABC in Brazil. Helder’s academic achievements include being a finalist in the competition for the best master’s Thesis in Computer Science by the Brazilian Computer Society in 2015. Moreover, he clinched the prize for the best Thesis at the Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems in 2019, along with the second-best thesis award at the CLEI Latin American Doctoral Thesis Contest in the same year. His scholarly contributions comprise over 15 articles and more than 45 full papers presented in national and international refereed conferences. He is actively engaged in organizing various conferences and workshops. His current research interests encompass a range of topics including optical networking, edge computing, machine learning, federated learning, and VANETs.
